Saul Markunsky · Managing Partner & Owner
Saul Markunsky is a leading authority on the tax system as it relates to the entertainment industry, trusted by some of the biggest names in the business. His reputation extends well beyond Australia's shores — tax professionals and agents in Hollywood regularly seek him out when their artists are working here, relying on his deep understanding of a complex and highly specialised corner of tax law. Alongside this specialisation, Saul also works with a broad range of clients outside the entertainment industry, bringing the same level of care and expertise to businesses and individuals across many different sectors.
Before moving to Sydney in 1996, Saul was a senior figure within the South African Revenue Service. He's a highly qualified chartered accountant, registered tax agent, superannuation specialist and business adviser, holding a degree in Commerce and Accountancy from Johannesburg's University of Witwatersrand. He became a partner, then managing partner, before taking the reins completely in December 2008.
With decades of experience advising high-profile clients, Saul's expertise spans the full spectrum of tax and wealth management: tax planning and income averaging, wealth protection, retirement strategies and superannuation, trust fund management, and estate and succession planning, among much more. It's this breadth — paired with an intimate understanding of the unique financial pressures facing entertainers, alongside the needs of his other clients — that has made him a trusted advisor for anyone navigating a complex financial picture.
Saul joined In The Picture with a clear philosophy: that clients deserve advisors who understand their world, not just their tax returns. Today, the broader In The Picture team of accounting and administrative professionals carries that philosophy forward, supporting clients with financial statements, tax compliance, bookkeeping, fund structures, and year-end obligations — all under Saul's guidance.

Victor has been with In The Picture for more than a decade. He has a Masters in Accounting from the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants. As an SMSF specialist and auditor, Victor is always ready to help with any queries in this area. And as a father, he's always ready to boast about his cheeky son.
Accountant
Jason is a CPA with over a decade of public-practice experience. A strategic business and tax adviser rather than a compliance-only accountant, he specialises in Australian SME taxation and the creative industries. Jason helps clients meet and exceed their financial goals through business structuring, tax-minimisation and asset-protection strategies, backed by proactive client service.
Accountant
Tate is a qualified CPA with over 12 years of experience in business services, taxation and accounting. He has advised a diverse range of individuals and businesses on their tax obligations and broader financial challenges. Known for his client-focused approach, Tate delivers practical, tailored solutions that give clients the clarity and support to make informed decisions.
Senior Manager
Carli is a Chartered Accountant and registered tax agent with over 8 years of experience at a Big 4 firm before joining In The Picture. As Senior Manager, she brings that depth of technical expertise to clients as a strategic business and tax advisor, taking a proactive approach to help clients meet and exceed their financial goals through smart structuring, tax planning, and hands-on advisory support. Outside the office, Carli's usually found shopping, watching sport, or enjoying a glass of wine.
Office Manager
Rebekah has been part of the In The Picture family for over 20 years, liaising directly with our clients, the ATO, and ASIC, and acting as the steady hand keeping our accountants supported when it comes to Financial Statements, Income Tax Returns, and all the essential paperwork in between. When she's not keeping everyone (and everything) running smoothly, you'll find Rebekah enjoying the fresh air, reading, and hanging out with her nieces and nephews.
Bookkeeping & Income Averaging
Kim has nine years' experience in bookkeeping, and has been developing skills in Income Averaging for four years. She graduated with a Bachelor of Business Accounting degree in 2018 and is a provisional member of the CA Board. Kim stays fit with running and regular gym visits.
